NMTB Punk Summer School 2026

Whilst we might not *actually* be pogo-ing around the room, the Never Mind The Bollocks Punk Summer School 2026  takes the anarchist, DIY, anti-establishment approach of punk and couples it with CEC’s specialists’ decades of creative sector knowledge that’s been accumulating over 25 years. The NMTB summer school is shaped by artists who have built thriving creative careers and outrageously ambitious projects from the 1980s onwards - beginning during Margaret Thatcher’s decimation of the arts, through the arrival of the internet and social media, weathering the financial crash in 2008 and still creating right through to today in the aftermath of the pandemic, Brexit and the development of AI.

Punk’s not dead - it was just waiting until it was needed again.

WHAT’S IT FOR? WHAT’S IT GOING TO DO FOR ME?

The NMTB Punk Summer School is designed to help artists, creative projects, businesses and business leaders find a way to thrive and be unique in a landscape that never stops changing and where the challenges seem to come from every direction. What’s punk got to do with it? The punk approach isn’t interested in cooperating with systems that don’t work. Instead it advocates being an agent for change, challenging norms and embracing otherness.

If you’re comfortable with strong language and big ideas and find yourself in need of a dose of rebellion, revolution and reminder of who you are and what you believe in - then we invite you to join us as we build a punk inspired armoury of talks, tools, exercises and group chats designed to build resilience, community and cheerful, effective non-compliance for creatives.

WHO IS IT FOR?

NMTB Punk Summer School is for every creative or creative thinker who needs it. Old heads, complete beginners, NMTB first timers or refreshers - and anyone anywhere in between. Bring yourself and all your mess, don’t worry if you’re dipping in and out because you have work commitments, the kids need fed, you can’t get out of bed or you’re hiding in the staff room at your side gig. Don’t worry if you’re not ready. Don’t worry if you’re worried.
As Kurt Cobain said - come as you are.

HOW DOES IT WORK AND HOW TO DO I SIGN UP?

NMTB Punk Summer School is four 90 minute Zoom sessions at 1pm on a Monday across the month of July with an option 15 minute creative playroom at the end of each session.

You can sign up for any of the sessions you want to below or on the CEC Events page.

Being punk is about being in community and that’s why Never Mind the Bollocks Summer School is free for anyone to attend.

These Zoom sessions won’t be recorded - because we want them to be relaxed, honest and confidential - but we will do a weekly email, talking about what came up in the session and offering links, exercises or thoughts on the session. This should allow you to pick up what you miss if you can’t make it to a session that interests you.
